After 10 years as Managing Director of CAMRADATA, Sean launched the cio investment club on 1st January 2024.

The cio investment club’s mission is to become the voice of chief investment officers and investment professionals at institutional firms. To help achieve this the club hosts events throughout the year that educate and inform, whilst providing thought-provoking content to its members.

25 years fixed income investment management experience in London and Dublin with New England Asset Management (NEAM) and Barclays Capital. Client base was insurance enterprises. Secondary exposure to multi asset classes.

Keen interest in financial markets and their impact on both strategic and tactical portfolio allocation and construction. Managed bond portfolios to benchmarks through many economic and credit cycles.

Recently established Vesta to support London-based insurance enterprises with the twin challenges of economic and governance uncertainty in their investment portfolios – namely through Outsourced Chief Investment Officer (OCIO) services for their investment committees.

Marcus Johnson is the Senior Director in terms of years of service and his connections with the company go back to its foundation. At that time, he was writing research on the gilt-edged market and one of his Edinburgh clients was a founding director of the company. Today he is actively engaged in all elements of the company’s activities.

Marcus also has educational interests in Lloyd’s of London. In 2022 he was appointed Chair of the Association of Lloyd’s Members (the body representing Lloyd’s Third Party Capital) where, in conjunction with Sean Thompson of cio investment club, he runs a popular seminar for Investment Managers to introduce them to the Lloyd’s market. He is Chairman of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment’s (CISI) Examination Panel, which sets professional exams at the Masters level for pension transfers and planning advice and has been awarded Honorary Fellowship of the CISI in recognition of the significant positive contribution he has made to the Institute and to the sector.

He has written widely on corporate governance and on investment management. We continue to provide his services as a Non-Executive Director to several companies.
